Maybe not. Probably not / 웬만하면 아닐거야. 아닐수도 있지.
참 쉬운 것 같으면서도 쉽게 입에서 안 떨어지는 말..
수십차례 한번 따라해봤다.

painstaking

painstaking : many different pains are required; 힘드는; 고생스런

A: Doing this dictation is painstaking~~ 이거 받아쓰기 진짜 빡시다.
B: Well, yes, but it's gonna really help. 음, 그래, 근데 그거 진짜 도움 될거다.
A: How? 어떤 식으로?
B: It'll show you where your weaknesses are. 니가 약한 부분이 어딘지를 알게 될거야.

creep me out

definition : to make someone feel uncomfortable/disgusting/scared/sick (very unpleasant)

something like spiders, cockroaches, and.. etc


A: Robots creep me out. 로보트는 날 섬뜩하게 해.
B: I love robots! Spiders creep me out. 나는 로보트 좋은데! 거미가 섬뜩하지.
A: But you can kill a spider! A robot could kill you! 근데 거미는 니가 죽일 수가 있잖아. 로보트는 니를 죽일 수 있다고!
B: Hmm... Goop point! 흠.. 그러네.

The Candle Gift

I bought my wife the sweet soy candles.

It was the first time I've ordered on a shopping mall. And I wrote my words celebrating our anniversary and showing my gratefulness. The candles smelt so sweet and cool. My wife looked happy and I was happier. Thanks, the candle couple, and the letter!

* chance of/for : probability (%) - 가능성의 확률을 얘기할 때.

A: What's the weather tomorrow? 내일 날씨 어때?
B: The chance for rain is really good. 비올 확률이 엄청 높네.
A: That'll give me a chance to wear my boots! And you'll love them^^ 그럼 부츠 신을 수 있겠다. 너도 좋아할 거얌.^^
B: The chance of me liking them is not so good! 내가 좋아할 확률은 낮을 거 같은데! (ㅋ)

my brother from another mother

* 배다른 형제(혈족 얘기)가 아니다. 부모는 다르지만 형제같은 즉, 그만큼 절친한 사이란 얘기.
* 여자의 경우: 'my sister from another mister'

A: You're what? Having a beer with who? 니 뭐라고? 누구랑 맥주 마신다고?
B: Ron! 롼!
A: Who's Ron? I don't know any Ron~ 롼이 누군데? 롼 모르는데 난~
B: He's my brother from another mother. 롼은 내 형제나 다름없어. 음하하.

보자마자 아하 배다른 형제! 했는데, 아니었음 ㅋㅋ

Every once in a while

간혹 (가~끔, 때때로) 

Every once in a while (not that often, sometimes)
1달에 한 번일 수도, 두 달에 한 번일 수도, 혹은 두 세 시간에 한 번일 수도 있다.
It depends on the situation. For example, "하루에 담배 가~끔(두 시간에 한 개피) 펴."

A: Ice cream? I never saw you eating ice cream before. 하드? 니 하드 묵는 거 못봤는데.
B: Every once in a while I treat myself to something sweet. 가~끔 달달한 거 내한테 선물한다이가.
A: Well, what about me? Where's mine? 흠, 나는? 내꺼는 어데있노?
B: I didn't forget! There's a bar in the fridge for you. 안 까뭇지! 냉장고에 니꺼 하나 있다.
